Hey everyone, I was just wondering how many people here have modded xboxes? What's the best mod for you? I have used hard and soft mods and I have to say that even though soft mods work and can do just about everything a hard mod can do- I still like my hard modded xbox better. For some reason, the thing just gives me a better feeling... if that makes ANY sense... lol ^_^
Softmodding is probably best for most people because its not expensive and can sometimes be done with what you already have. For example, if you have the original versions of Mechassault, 007 Agent under Fire, or Splinter Cell you can take advantage of a bug in these games that allow actual programs to be executed from a save game. You can use a save game file that can be downloaded from the internet and a self-moddified xbox controler. (you splice a USB 1.1 cable end to the controler; not USB 2.0) You can use the modified controller to copy the save game to an xbox memory card and run the mod on your xbox. Sweet, eh? Well.... BrAiN DuMp! Have a spiffy day, eh?

I never got into the hard mods but the soft mod is great. My box consists of:
300 GIG HD, samsung 616T DVD, blue led fan, UNLEASHX and EVOX , NES, SNES, GB/GBC/GBA, PCE TG16/CD, SEGA MASTER SYSTEM/GAMEGEAR, ARCADE(FBA and MAME), SEGA GENESIS/32X/CD, N64, PSX, ATARI 2600/LYNX, NG POCKET, and of course XBMC. What's in your box Dackr? |

Heh... This shows just how much I check this...
![]() I have two modded xboxes with UnleashX. Used to use EvoX... One hard mod using the ?Apple 2? or Apple X or something... It was a long time ago! 180GB HDD(SAMSUNG). No cool Neon fans.. Cant remember the DVD drive... Hmm... maybe I should check after work. The soft mod was done with Mechassault and my modded xbox controller. I used the soft modded xbox mostly when I was across the country from my hard modded xbox. Uh... my father loaded all his games onto my xbox while I was out here though. I have a bunch of emulators, etc. I'm gonna need to look at it again...
