I guess this is the right section to place this request...

Okay, can anyone use Project64 to take some screenshots of Mario Party 1's scenery? These attachments show what I mean by "scenery." It's the scene that appears when you go close up to talk with a character on a board or level. For example, on Yoshi's Tropical Island board, when you talk with Koopa Troopa, the scene closes in to a cool piece of scenery that looks super realistic.

Here are my first requests...

1. Scenery closeup modes on Yoshi's Tropical Island
2. Scenery closeup modes on Donkey Kong's Jungle Adventure

More later!

Take a look at the far right on these attached files.

I would appreciate anyone's screenshots. :action-33

those looked like `dumped` textures to me. Take a look at THIS (http://www.pj64-emu.com/blog/2007/3/660-texture-pack-support-retrospective-%11%11-part-i.html)

I'll see what I can do for you though.

What type of project are you working on by the way??

Well, I like the sound of dumping of the textures a bit better than getting screenshots, but either way is fine for now. Dump or snap.

Thanks for offering to help. I don't have a good enough computer/software/hard drive/Gcard to run Pj64, though, so that's why I made this thread! ;)

But to answer your question, I plan to eventually make a Mario Party expansion game - - a game that expands Mario Party 1 in a new way. It'll run on DarkBasic (probably). For now I 'm making custom sprites for it, along with tilesets and edited stufff from screenshots. Thanks again for offering. I'll put up more requests later.

:D

Such a thing would be cool, but I'd think it would be better done on Mario Party 2 or 3, if you're just trying to expand the game.
Anyway, good luck.

Well, it's not a TRUE expansion... it's more of a revision of Mario Party 1. It's not to replace it; it's just that I love the first MP so much that I wanted to create the true "sequel."

Also, is it possible to rip the character models using 3DripperDX??????

I'll see what I can do with the 3Dripper thingy.
As far as my idea of dumping the textures, it's not working out to good.
It would be a HUGE zip, to much for me to want to upload on my crappy dail-up connection anyway :( .

and I'm curious now I just noticed your comment:

umm what are your PC specs?
how where you going to even test this project?
what programs are you using to create this project?

I have a Windows 98 (I know that's REALLY sad) and a Windows ME/2000 laptop with an XP operating system. The first one might be able to run pj64, but I don't wanna spend a buncha cash on a Gcard right noe. I don't even know what graphics card this computer uses. The second one doesn't really belong to me; I just use it as a borrowed item, so I can't update it with a new Gcard, mainly because the owner doesn't want me to.
I might get a Vista PC... But until then, I may just update the 98 with a new Gcard... eventually... just not now.
So why am I starting this project already if I don't even have Dark Basic yet? Well, I'll probably have a Vista laptop within a year or two that could run a Project64. I just wanted to get started getting the media going into the game... right now I have WAVs, sprite sheets, Midis, and more.
Thanks again for your efforts, Vince. If you can, show me what you have so far, please. :)

BTW, is the problem the texture dumping itself AND the loading speed/size, or JUST the loading speed/size on your computer in that "big WinZip" File? How big is it?? How's the quality of all your MP dumped scenery textures??? (I would love to see at least SOME of what you've done!)

Thanks.

My texture dump idea didn't work out to well like I said.
I just did a format on my HD a few weeks ago so I'll have to install 3Dmax before I can see what can be done with 3DRipper.

Just hang in there (not literally hehe) and keep a watchful eye on the topic.
