Alrighty...I have the flippy top version and I'm not buying a "regular" PS2, but I still wanna mod...Am I screwed?

I don't have a chip but you can use both. Last time I heard anyway but it might differ from chip to chip.

well if you want to go the swap magic route, good luck.. i've been on backorder for the new version (the one that supports the flip top) for about 6 months now..

i still have it but i was plannign on getting the pstwo w/ the new swap magic..
it all fell thru tho cuz compusa can't seem to get anythign i want in stock and im stuck with a $100 gift certificate..
Is version 3.6 the one I want?

yes everything from 3.3 and up should support the pstwo

nope...sorry. No support for the hard drive on the new one.

I thought that PS2 files were too big for a cd-r...

Matt means you can rip out movies and music (and/or) then most games fit on CDr
