You seen this? (http://www.cnn.com/2005/TECH/fun.games/04/07/sony.brain.reut/index.html)
In a racing game, I want to feel like I'm really in that 300mph crash!
I want to smell the rotting alien tissue! (Xenosaga just immediately came to mind after reading that)

Bah! Great discovery, but they aim low! Sony really needs to aim for higher purposes... such as...
what if you in the future actually could FEEL what the characters in the game feels? or HEAR what they hear? That would truly be awesome!

Yeah, feeling a slash of a sword on your chest would be cool[/sarcasm] :closedeye

Indeed... hehe. But that's only one thing of many that could happen. You could feel the breeze of the wind... or the heat of the sun... by some things.

The people who say games cause violence are going have fun with this one...
Also tapping into your brain..eh..sorta freaks me out.

boy, no kidding. And just think of the possible lawsuits that could(and probably would) stem from this...
'My son was playing Mortal Kombat 17 and had a heart attack when his friend ripped his head and spine out...the shock was just too much...'
lmao

ooo, if they do incorporate feal, then with everything else like that... think of all the 'your there' vacation games... ahh the fake back rubs... nuuu wrong game! not resident evil! ayeeeee
okie... that would be a bit freaky
...ahh the fake back rubs...
the consol viruses that will quite literally drive you insane... Sure it's a great idea up until it's criminally exploited. Too bad it will probably never be released due to legal issues. I sure could use a good backrub.

yeh its a good idea ... but wrong so wrong why do so many people want to play god? it will take over ur brain then ur mind then ur life ... i doubt they will use this technology in ps3 if so then i am not looking forward to the next generation of video games.

What is WRONG with it, if I may ask? The whole point of what developers are trying to do is get to get poeple to feel as if they live INTO the game itself. Think what such technology could do. I find nothing wrong in that. If some people find it creepy, I suppose all does not have to use it.

actually what I see more into it, even if it would go upon a 'wrong' path
as that one guy in the matrix said, if it looks and tastes like steak, the who... well yeah... as long as your happy O.o

What is wrong lets pretend the next generation of computer games was virtual reality everything went towards a degree that was more realstic than this current generation. Now you could actually move freely within environments and so forth it would be hard to distingish this virtual reality from actual reality you would forget about eating/sleeping leading to death . The mind is a powerful tool it just depends on how you use it. Maybe i am think too deep but you should know what you take advantage of once this is realized payback would ensue.
I think Dark Guyver's point is that it is highly susceptible to abuse...the way human cloning would be if it fell into the hands of the military.
In my opinion, it would do to you the same thing a hallucinogen would. If gaming comes to the point where you cannot differentiate between "seeming-actuality" and reality, it would contribute more to "Chaos" than "Creation."

For some reason that made me think of .hack//sign
that does make me think upon something else though.. if actions could be of a certain degree of realism... and with the ever growing online support for games... eventually game producers could send signals of what they want to you, and completely alter you... a power that is... a bit over the top... bad bad thing

I agree with Flonne here but if that kind of technology got to the military it would be like ultima training I mean what better way is there to train soliders than a Zombie out break or learning how to kill dragons with M4s

Simply because some people may be affected by this should not mean the rest must be. Do not kill fun for us else because you cannot handle it. That's my opinion.
Heck. We have issues even these days, such as the case when a young boy took after gta and killed police officers.
