Notice this little bit of news (http://www.rpgamer.com/news/Q1-2005/032705a.html), refering to a patent infringement with the Dual Shock (2) controllers, along with a list of games infringing (several late PS1/early PS2 games). Will this mean several popular games will have to be pulled (bye bye FFX, Kingdom Hearts, GTA, Gran Turismo, Metal Gear Solid 2...)?

that sux, but read this...www.xboxsolution.com/article840.html...Microsoft is now able to use the technology for their systems. Also, the lawsuit against Sony is still pending, so they may work out the same way. I hope so, anyway.

Microsoft is able to use the "shock" feature on their controllers because they bought a part of Immersion, I think.

Sony should probably just pay Immersion for the patent. That way both companies will profit, rather than wasting resources on various lawsuits. Problem is, Sony doesn't usually like to admit mistakes.

Besides pulling out those games, Sony's also instructed to pull out both the PS2 and the PS1's that have the Dual Shock controller.

I really don't think this is anythign to worry about. Sony's not dumb enough to let some little speck of a company ruin theyre hand over fist party.
