are people working on making arcade emulators for some of the latest arcade machines like the naomi system?
is it possible to have games like virtua fighter 4 emulated?

Well there's is some emulators.... but not a lot.. so far i hear Raz and BillyJr "MIGHT" work on the cps3... could be a rumor though.

It really doesn't matter if they *work* on it (Raz has done work on it but no progress was made, BillyJR posted in his site that he would work on CPS3, and Elsemi also worked on it). CPS3 has two layers of encryption to crack which means without any help from Capcom sources it'll be extremely difficult to decrypt.

As for Naomi the Dreamcast people are working on it, since its just an improved version of Dreamcast. But don't count on anything for a few mroe years. Plus the fact that the arcade rom dumpers have a tendency to not release rom dumps until they are a few years old.

Ah! yeah.. i remember now... yeah billyJR did posted something... but it was just a discosion... & the Naomi system is much different than u think... It uses a diff core... the Dreamcast only protection is a GD-Rom and we all now it's been cracked after 6-9 months after the console came out in the market.... So even if u find out how a dreamcast works.. that almost means squad for the Naomi system... although knowing how the Sh4 cpu core works is something http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif . O btw there is a Naomi rom(there's a Gd-Rom and Rom versions)(it's been passed around in #roms4free(yes i have it(uhm too many"()" ^_-))).

Both NAOMI and Dreamcast use the Hitachi SuperH4 RISC core and the same graphcis engine. Naomi has more ram and a better sound engine. Plus it also reads rom cartridges, so the encrypption there needs to be cracked.

But most downloaded DC (all?) are ripped and are mmissing stuff due to the GD-ROM CD-ROM conversion... (there is no GD-R to my knowledge that would work with CD-R drives. )

Well... the problem with the DC is u can only read the 1st layer of the GD-rom ... they cracked it by using a cd-rom to read the image(dont ask me for details this was years ago).

btw

Yes I know you did, but I said it again because you said the *core* of the two were different, which is not true at all.

BTW this webpage explains the GD-ROM's problems in other CD-ROM drives and the difficulty of ripping...
