Use this to post what it is you would like to see in future versions of MarioNES!
Although I already posted this a while earlyer, but i think i might as well put it in this topic cause that's what it's there for.
What i want to see implemented for MarioNES:
1. More accurate sound
2. Full gamepad suport
3. A speedup button
4. Better compatability\mapper support

A port to the Dreamcast would be interesting..

Well, I'm not MarioNES, but I think he's talking about the emulator itself, not ports. I don't know his interests, but I think he's not planning to make ports, at least not for now, maybe when the emulator reaches its perfection... ;)

to port it to the dreamcast I would need to know how to program in visual basic on a dreamcast, which I am fairly sure isnt possible.

I suppose you'd need to learn c and get a dreamcast compiler. So I don't take it that's going to happen anywhere near future ;)

Well, man. I downloaded and tried it out today and tested against, JNes, NNNesterJ, FCEU, Yame38 and REW. As far as graphics go, you nearly have these guys beat. There's just a tad to much green in the emulation but other than that and the lack of a scanlines option the video is top notch. Your sound is pretty good but, a bit slow and in full-screen mode it's even slower. An FDS support and movie mode would also be a nice addition. I tried out several games on all of the above emus as well as 80five and it emulated all but Goonies but, then I don't know of *any* emu that can run Goonies so you passed that little test easy in my book. Other than those few little probs, I love it! I sure hope you get it perfected soon because I think that I may want it to be my NES emu of choice. Good luck!

Can you give me a little more info on what is wrong with Goonies? Because I have tested it with both Goonies, and Goonies 2 and I dont see anything wrong.

Pretty much the same thing it does on the other emus. Yellowed-out title screen with black text, jumbled stage graphics that get worse with scrolling. That's about it. Could be that I have a sucky dump of the game. I'll go get some other versions and check them out and let ya know the results, k? l8tr, man.

I would think you have a bad dump, because I have never heard of this happening on 80five, nor have I seen it happen on any other emulator I have used that game with.
I just tried it out on my comp, and goonies 1 and 2 work just fine.

Okay. I think you guys were right. It was a bad dump. I went and got every other version I could find -13 in all- and got 6 to work. I only tested them on 80five. 2 of the ones that didn't work said something about a mapper not being supported. I've placed the working and non working roms into seperate folders. If you want, I could zip and email them to you. It's your call, man.
EDIT: I would like to opologize to the Emu X Haven community for offering roms to another member in this post. I did not intend to break any rule/s and I guess I just wasn't thinking at the time. Again, I am sorry.

Yes but, the board was down during that time and I wasn't able to read it. Could you send me that message again please?

-More mapper support
-Speed up for pentium 230 mhz (really important for me x_DD)

Is 80five still written in Visual Basic? If so, I wouldn't hold any hope of good speed on a Pentium II ever. Especially a bottom-end Pentium II.

yeah, 80five is still written in VB. As for the speed up I will work on it.
Shiva: 80five should work fine on a Pentium II. The original version of MarioNES was written on a Pentium 233. And it ran full speed.

Weird. I was trying LissNES (another NES emulator coded in VB) and I had to set a frameskip of 2 to get it running at full speed on my old Pentium III 450Mhz. Guess it just wasn't very optimized.

I played this emu again last night, had to toggle between the frameskip a lot on rygar and P.O.W(why i was playing this pile of crud is beyond me) which at times made me think i was in the matrix but seriously it does need a speed up option on the joypad configuration like the one in Visual boy advance for example! just a thought.

I've checked the Dreamcast console and there is a "Compatible with Windows CE" note and a Windows logo. What does it mean?
