Which game in your opinion is better, the King Of Fighters series, or the assorted Street Fighter .vs. something series.

Further more, who would win a fight between Ken and Kyo? :argue-smilie1:

I like the Street Fighter series more.

I would say ken.

I like the street fighter series more, and im pretty sick with ken.

After reading this, I jumped on my mugen and battled it out, Kyo from KoF2003, and Ken from MvC2. I played 4/7 with each character. Playing as Ken, I won 3/7, winning the first 2, losing 2, winning 1, then losing the rest. Playing as Kyo, which I had never used before, I won 4/7 matches in a row, not even losing half a life bar.

Let me add that I also play it on the hardest difficulty, cuz im sooo good =)

Vincent, I hate you, Ive been looking for that rom for the longest time XD

Play the Capcom vs. SNK / SNK vs. Capcom series to find out... :P

KOF >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> SF though.

Any fighting game created by SNK is better than any fighting game created by Capcom.

Let's see.. would I rather play a game filled with nothing but unique characters with unique moves or a game where half the characters use the same moves and wear the same gi in different colors? The only real difference in the Street Fighter sequels are the addition of lame ass, uninspired characters, with lame ass uninspired sprites and specials, and then more obnoxious text flashing and scrolling across the screen. This is Capcom's idea of "style". Why, in Capcom vs. SNK, did they change all of the *CAPCOM* sprites to look more like KOF sprites? Because even *Capcom* knows that SNK owns them.

Capcom made a few games worth playing. Hell, I still play the Street Fighter series every now and then. But comparing King of Fighters (any of them) to Street Fighter (again, any of them) is like comparing the feeling you get when you find a wallet filled with hundred-dollar bills to the feeling you get when you find a lucky penny. When it comes to fighting games, SNK games are just plain better than Capcom games. SNK characters are just plain *better* than Capcom characters.

Definitly KOF. It just has more, and it looks better too. The characters are better and the moves look more different than the capcom charcaters. The only thing that I like capcom with is the "Super Gauge" and the mvsc series.

Actually, Capcom didn't change some of their sprites at all for Capcom VS SNK. Or even Capcom VS SNK 2 for some reason (You see Morrigan? Capcom have been using that same damn sprite since 1994. Even on a game that was for the NAOMI, Dreamcast, PlayStation 2, GameCube and Xbox. Pretty shameful.). Meanwhile, all of the pretty decent Neo-Geo sprites were dumped as Capcom redrew every SNK character to their own specifications and drawing style.

SNK aren't innocent either. SNK VS Capcom: Chaos used several old (As in 1996 old.) sprites too. This is more forgivable since that's just using Neo-Geo sprites in another Neo-Geo game. But they still look pretty crappy compared to all of the Capcom sprites SNK decided to redraws to their own specifications and drawing style.

But which so I prefer? I'd choose The King of Fighters games over the Street Fighter games. But then I haven't tried Street Fighter III: Third Strike, which may still tip me over to the Capcom side.

Finally, Ken versus Kyo? I'd go with Kyo. He's far cooler than Ken and has some badass moves. But what about other matches? Ryu versus Terry Bogard has already come up, but I can think up of a few more...

Chun-Li versus Mai Shiranui
Blanka versus Gen-An Shiranui (Yes, he's related to Mai. A distant relation...)
Rugal Bernstien versus Master Bison

I'd be able to think up of a few more if Fighters Generation wasn't down...

Let's not forget Iori, who owns every other character. I think King of Fighters simply because it has much better characters.

Hrm..

Ryu vs. Setsuna(Last Blade..)..
Ken vs. Setsuna(Last Blade..)..
Dan vs. Setsuna(Last Blade..)..
Akuma vs. Setsuna(Last Blade..)..
Dark Ryu vs. Setsuna(Last Blade..)..
Sakura vs. Setsuna(Last Blade..)..

Yeah.. Six *completely* identical matches, in which Setsuna fatally shatters glass over Ryu, Ken, and all of their clones, hopefully forever ending Capcom's plague of unoriginality. (Believe it or not I think I'm even *forgetting* a few Ryu/Ken clones. Didn't Ken eventually get his own trainee? Kind of like Ryu's Sakura?)

You forgot Violent Ken (Seen getting his ass kicked by Iori on the left).
Note about Kyo: I've never really liked him personally. His kof2001 outfit is pretty cool, though. But he's no Iori, as you can see in this shot even Kyo is brought to his knees by Iori's awesomeness.

Well, then again, you can also put Ryo, Yuri, Robert, Takuma and Butt in that mix....

Damn, you really hate Capcom don't you? I personally like both SNK (King of Fighters, Metal Slug...) and Capcom (Street Fighter, Devil May Cry...) but regard them as both similar. They've both been unoriginal, both copied the other's designs, both made a lot of innovation. But Capcom just manages to sneak forward in the originality part. Remember the original Street Fighter? Name a fighter before that which had different characters and moves.

I want to see a Capcom VS SNK 3...

Damn, you really hate Capcom don't you?I liked the Darkstalkers series and Megaman's great. But I *do* think that Street Fighter is *completely* over-rated. And I *do* think that *any* SNK fighting game is better than *any* Capcom fighting game.

Remember the original Street Fighter? Name a fighter before that which had different characters and moves.
TMNT: Tournament Fighters (NES)

easy, kof

most techincal/skillful fighting game out and fluent, better graphics on sf2

hence its hardcore following in japan and playmore basically playing on that

but i'm from the old school and i still love the first sf2 from high school days(listening to cypress hill while dragon punching, so good in the day)

remeber those people who thought that they was cool in my arcade cos they could cannonball instantly and people would say wow how did you do that??

until they found out how to dragon punch blanka where did your energy go??? :eplus2:

first sf2 version was funny cos of the horrendous energy characters took of and the dragon punch was invincible.

remeber the handcuff technique with guile which would make the character stick to guile in a stunned position.

This is a bit confusing now because they have SNK .vs. Capcom chaos...thats a KOF game right? It's made by SNK and Playmore...so, it has Street Fighter Characters, but KOF graphics...BAH!!!!

Ken and Ryu look OK in SvCc, but their moves look shiiiit. The shoryuken has been reduced only so Kyo can still look like he's special...And the Hadouken???....Dear lord, what has become of it...

TMNT: Tournament Fighters (NES)

Here's the manual (http://www.world-of-video-games.com/nes/manuals/teenage_tournament_fight.shtml) for the game, including the list of characters and their special moves.
According to GameFAQs (http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/nes/data/8215.html) (and the game's title screen), that game was released in 1993. Coming out after Street Fighter II': Turbo (1992), Street Fighter II': Champion Edition (1992), Street Fighter II: The World Warrior (1991) and way after Street Fighter (1987). It actually came out the same year as Super Street Fighter II and Mortal Komabt II! I was actually playing Street Fighter II on my SNES before TMNT: Tournament Fighters even came out! Try harder.
