OK, here is the run down:

I just got my Flash2 Advance cable in this week and have been trying to backup some of my carts for archive use. *To be specific, I've tried backing up Sonic Adv, Megaman Zero, and D&D EoB. *In all cases, my Visual Boy emulator will just sit there when I try to load one of these games. *

As a side note, I've just tried to run GoodGBA on these games and another that I've downloaded. *The GoodGBA returns a list of known GBA ROMs in the directory, and it only sees the one I've downloaded. *The one I downloaded is actually a sonic Adv. ROM. *I've even tried editing both files and checked the first 16 lines of hex (the first 512 bytes of the header), the values are identical *http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif . *

Is there anything I'm missing here? *Has anyone experienced the same issues w/ F2A that I have or figured it out? *Sorry for the lengthy post but as you can see I've been trying as many tricks as a newbie knows. *Please Help!

Grace and Peace,
Xeb0

Well... I have tried running GoodGBA, but it doesn't "see" it as a ROM in the data base, as I said in my original statement, it only sees the 1 working ROM. Is there a way for me to "force" GoodGBA to read the copied ROM and tell me what's wrong with it?

Thanks anyway, and forgive me if there is something I'm missing...

Well, I've spoken with the customer care of the site where I bought the F2A kit. the tech believes I have a bad cable/flash. So I sent it back. But in the mean time, does anyone know if there is an American site that sells the link cable; or can you build one yourself (any sites with howto's for that)? Any ideas?

I have the Flash2 Advance cable. It is different than the flash linker in that it connects from the PC's parallel port directly to the GBA's link port and you use the GBA's cart slot to read from or right to the GBA; Does anyone have a howto to making your own cable or other flash link device?

As to the link to get the cable, that's who I used to get mine, but it has to be sent directly from Hong Kong and the company actually operates out of Canada.

I'm just looking for someone who builds and sells within the 48 states are better yet, some ideas to making your own. As it is, it will be 2 weeks before I hear back from the company and sold me the F2A kit. (sucks to be me). In the meantime, I'd like to see what I can do while I wait http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Any ideas or URLs?

It was a 128m cart. I have shipped it back to the company and am thinking of exchanging it for a "flash linker" kit (the one with the cart module attached so you don't have to use your GBA) w/ the 256m cart. Is that the type of kit most folks are using?

ya as far as i know every one should have a flash linker :P
i got mine along time ago when the 64 was the top of the line so ill be looking to upgrade too..might as well get the whole set considering the linker+cart is only 10$ more than just the cart http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif
