Ok I went to Gamefaqs and checked out their list comparing it to Gimps list. If you ask me I think he is close enough to be a right answer considering the length of the answer. The main one he forgot is Archer/hunter. I say ask the next question Gimp. Anyone disagree with me? http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

WTF are you talking about Edea! He's missing 3 names! And most of the names are written wrong! So what are you talking about! I think he never played the game 'cause Magic Knight, White Mage, Black Mage, Red Mage and Master don't exist in the game! Besides WTF is a MASTER! And another thing Edea Gamefaqs aren't always true! I think Millionz went to the same Gamefaqs where Edea went to search for the answer that's why you got it wrong Gimp and that's why Edea thinks that he's missing 1 name. I played the game to the end without Gamefaqs, walktroughs and cheats! And also found almost all the hidden items and hidden passages in the game! So i know all the Jobs 100% 'cause I beated it too! I'm playing the game now to check all the Jobs and I'm 100% right! Well Gimp your answer cannot be accepted 'cause you went to the Gamefaqs! Man I hate cheaters who go to the Gamefaqs to search for answers! http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cwm23.gif

Commands: Fight/Keep/Parry/Item
Strengths: Attack/HP

  technique can be used twice in a row;
subsequent charges in a row will blow the
energy up in your face for a loss of about
  1/2 your HP.
Use: Double up the Claws! Keep him in the back row
if he cant kill very easily. If your level is high

equip new ones during battle without turn penalty.

Weapon Type: Books
Armor Rank: Weak

Use: These guys rock. They hold everything! Stock them
up with Call magic before adding black and white. Why
not change all your magicians to this class? Because
they are not specialized, their magic is not as effective
as pure white or black wizards.

Red Mage
-------------

Commands: Fight/Magic/Run/Item
Strengths: HP/Magic

Special: Black Magic Lv.1-8
Use: 2 words. Flare and Meteo. They hit hard, and they
hit fast. The power of nuclear energy is not to
    be ignored; so get it!

   Hunter
---------------
Weapon Type: Bow/Arrows
Armor Rank: Weak
Commands: Fight/Magic/Parry/Item
Strengths: Magic, Fighting
Special: Level 1-3 White Magic
Use: This is a tough call. The armor level is often not up to
par, and lots of investment is needed for good arrows, but

Use: Double up the spears and keep him flying. If bosses use
some bad magic...jump may keep your fight alive.

Viking
-------------
Weapon Type: Axe, Hammer
Armor Rank: Medium
Commands: Fight/Parry/Run/Item
Strengths: HP/Attack
Special: None

time. Axes hit less but are stronger.

  Caller
-------------
Weapon Type: Rods
Armor Rank: Medium
Commands: Fight/Magic/Run/Item
Strengths: Magic

WTF! You went to the Gamefaqs and the Walktrough! So you went to the Gamefaqs after all! And also to the Walktrough! Now I'm getting angry! WTF is a Karate Master! I played the 100% English one and no Japanese! So I don't know if he was in the Japanese version, but he was not in the English one! Your answer has not been accepted 'cause you're a cheater. You don't know anything about FF3! You were just looking at the Gamefaqs and the Walktrough!

BTW WTF is Parry! Parry does not exist in the battle system! Not even in the whole game! Besides not only the Knight can equip the Excalibur! And WTF is a Paladin! It's just Mystic Knight! And the Thief also uses a Boomerang not just Knives! You were looking at the Gamefaq and the Walktrough that's why almost everything is wrong! 'Cause not all of them are true! And the Sage can use Books and Staffs! Not only Books! And again Red Mage does not exist in it! And about the Scholar. WTF is Peer! It's Scan! WTF is a White Mage! He doesn't even exist! Same with the Black Mage! And the white Wizard is the first Wizard which can use White Magic so he cannot use Lv. 8 Magic! Same with the Black Wizard! And WTF is a Taoist (Elementalist)! And WTF is a Caller! He does not exist so he can't use Magic! And Summoner cannot be the next level of the Caller 'cause the Caller doesn't exist! There are 22 Jobs! And you wrote 22, but most of them are wrong! If you didn't know yet I meant the English version of FF3 and not Japanese! Besides you have been disqualified for this question 'cause you went to the Gamefaq & the Walktrough! Man I hate this! If you didn't know you didn't have to say anything! You're just a cheater! It wouldn't be that worse if you would just go to the Gamefaq or Walktrough, but both! You're disqualified 100% for my question so you can't say that you're right or wrong 'cause you're disqualified! http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cwm23.gif http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif

Dude, chill out. While people should not go to gamefaqs to find answers, I don't think anyone actually finished that game here anyway (I played about 6 hours of it).

Besides, there is no "official" translation of the classes, so any name is acceptable (you don't have to use the Neo Demiforce Translation names) as long as their meaning is closed to that of the official Japanese release.

Hopefully WHEN and IF they decide to release the game here ont he GBA, we will know the real names.

Crystals names:

Um, lemme ask something here...

FF3 and FF6 are same I think, isn't that so?
FF5 was the game which never was released in Europe, and was the game with the crystals.

I think it was like that. FF3 did _NOT_ have the crystals. It was the same as FF6.

brightman
03-21-2002, 09:03 PM
No the Final Fantasy II and Final Fantasy III that were released in the US were actually Nintendo of America's attempt to hide the fact that they neglected to release half of the Final Fantasy games that were released in Japan.

The REAL Final Fantasy Chronology went like this:

NES Games:
Final Fantasy - with the fighter, blackbelt, etc. Released in the US
Final Fantasy II - with Frioniel, Guy, etc, stat level-up system. NOT released in the US
Final Fantasy III - Onion Kids, fighters, etc, first incarnation of the Job system. NOT released in the US

SNES Games
Final Fantasy IV - Cecil, Rosa, etc. Released in the US as Final Fantasy II because it's the second FF game to be released in the US
Final Fantasy V - Bartz/Butz, Job system II. NOT released in the US until Final Fantasy Anthology on PSX
Final Fantasy VI - Terra, Locke, etc. Released in the US as Final Fantasy III because it's the third FF game to be released in the US

PSX+ Games

Starting here, Sony of America decided to stick with the Japanese numbering for games, so as a result, even though FF7 is actually the fourth FF game to be released here, they didn't call it FF4.

Also the re-releases were given their proper Japanese numbering as well, so FF4-6 were not FF2-3 anymore, but FF4-6.

So what do we learn from this? Nintendo screwed up by not releasing games here, but Sony and Square did its best to fix it.

Now all we have to wait for are the two remaining Japanese only FF games. Final Fantasy II has been released for the handheld WonderSwan, but that also remained in Japan. FFIII has not been remade yet.
