The GUI looks bad unfortunaly, BUT, everything else is just like zsnes, and the mouse isn't as irritating. It's easier to use! Just becuse the gui and their wizard doesn't blame it apart.
It has an "edit"-button in the cheats, better cheat-system...

Those are pointless points Doom. You dont use the extra features. Thats silly. Thats like saying I have windows, but I dont use Copy+Paste. Ok, well maybe not eveyone needs the extra Features, but it's nice to know they're there. As for the edit button thing, like I said, mountain out of a mole hill. And really, cheating is only an extra. Its not an integral part of an Emu.
So simply put:

Just thought I'd say.. Zsnes still runs smoother on my system than Snes9x. I use both- but not the newest version of Snes9x when I do use it. The newest version crashes too much on my machine- although it does run good while it's goin. Still- My vote goes to Zsnes, since I'm a fan of the DOS GUI.. don't know why.. I just dont like the way windows is so standardized in the way of GUIs. Snes9x could at least kill the GUI and shoot for something more pretty. http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif Guess I'm just dreamin though..

And it's true--snes9x has netplay.
The snes9x team--there is no such thing! There is one developer for this generally, but the guy who has taken over it seem not to have worked on it, or just forgotten it.
I can't really say it's a lamer 'cuz i haven't heard anything of what the guy has done, if anything, but my hopes are still. Let's hope they continue the awesome and best emulator.
You know...zsnes was best of them a while back, but snes9x ran over them.

OK, please don't revive dead topics from months ago. Post a new topic if you need. Thanks.
I think the reason they do that sometimes is because on other forums if you start a new topic about something that's already been discussed the members reply with "do a search before you ask" or something like that and they expect you to revive old topics...

Zsnes' mouse isn't irritating at all.
And the Dos version of Zsnes blows away any other Snes emu when it comes to speed. Old computers usually have win95 or 98, so the Dos version should work perfect, beating Snes9x in every way http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

I prefer ZSNES because the noise effects are better in it. SNES 9x's noise sounds pathetic in comparision.
ZSNES also has 8-point sound filtering and a hi-quality low pass filter and runs Far East of Eden Zero (SNES 9x doesn't). I think a high pass filter would be a good addition too (see FakeNES).
SNES 9x has a better looking GUI and runs Top Gear 3000 better.
But everyone forgets about the other three active emulators. SNEeSe (unique sound core that seems rather choppy to me), SNESGT (appears to use SNES 9x's sound core, 'nuff said) and SNem (another unique sound core that's not implemented in current releases).
