Does anyone know how to make an emulator? Is it a program?
Is it hard?

You need advanced programming skills and knowledge of the console you're emulating's programming, among other things.

Yes, it is an application, just like Windows.
It can take years to learn just to create applications, and years more to make an emulator.

dang... its hard enough to make an rpg with rpg maker...
Bah, RPG Maker isnt hard, just horribly time consuming. :/ And yeah, dooms estimation of years upon years to be able to make an emu is about correct. :/ Then again, depends on what ur gonna emulate....

...really?!?!?
whats the programs name?
how long do it take???
(and i guess i just suck with rpgm2000)
Well unlike RPG Maker, ther isnt a program u can use to make an emu. U make an emulator by coding in a particular language. C++ is hands down the most widely used. VBScript is another. There are even a few written in Java. It can take years to learn 1 of these to the point where u can write an emu. And years more to write a properly working one....

Why didn't you try to ask in emu coding in emutalk?

If ur going to learn ASM or C/C++ learning it while ur making a emu is a horrible start. Learn asm 1st then go for the C language.

Don't go for C. You needn't learn C before learning C++. Take C++ or C, but C++ is better, keep that in mind.

C++ is easier to learn, not better. It has more built in functions, like classes and overloading operators and stuff, but you can use other ways to do the same thing with C.
So i guess it is good to start with C++.
