Not quite. They need a "edit"-button in the cheats-menu. Really needed.

Are cheats always the most important thing to you Doom?

Yes! I'm da cheat master!
Handling found cheats is not easy without it.
So bah!

Anywho, bout time Zsnes updated. This one seemed to take forever.....

Hmm... I have mixed feelings about this release tho, video triple buffering slows the game down A LOT now, the sound is a little weird (high pitched in FF games) and a bunch of other stuff.

Ya the site was updated: seems there are toubles in the sound emulation in this release so a new bug fixed release is on the way .

I agree... Snes9X gets strait to the point... I just hate having to guess which number to press to change control to mouse or superscope... Snes9X RULES!

Your reasoning is flawed. ZSNES is extremely customizable because you can change anything that you don't like into what you do.
Just go to Misc->Game Keys and you can change just every single shortcut key available--from choosing save states to setting mouse/scope to using joypads for these shortcuts. If you like the Snes9x shortcuts you can change them to that. You can't do that in Snes9x, now can you?
Face it, Zsnes is by far the most customizable emulator and the fastest and the best.
Moral: So if you want to stop guessing which number is the mouse, go to Misc->GameKey, change where it says ExtraDevices to whatever you want (maybe the right mouse button or something) and everytime you need to switch, just press the right mouse button or whatever! I still like the simple menu of Snes9X (easy to modify)...
but you have just conned me in to switching to ZSnes...
Just one more thing... does this version handle modified games as well as Snes9X?

Of course. Many times patches run better for ZSNES than Snes9x.

Alright...
ZSnes: basiclly a very good emulator, highly customizable. Slightly faster than Snes9X and turbo-button support. No edit-button in cheats, and cheat search is not quite that powerful as Snes9X.
Snes9X: A very good emulator. Lacks a cool GUI, though. Has all features of ZSnes except for the turbo-buttons. It isn't customizable, but can be overseen. Has a more powerful cheat-system (slightly), and an edit-button too. The only thing it loses except for to speed is that it cannot run some hacked roms like adult manga (o_O, nasty me for naming it!).
That's it, folks. Now decide.

Umm... ZSNES runs games faster than Snes9x in slower computers....
Anyway, Snes9x and ZSNES authors collaborated in some of the things that had worked on one emulator and not the other, but NO, ZSNES had its own programmers.
I have yet to hear a legitimate reason for how Snes9x is better than ZSNES though, other than the fact that the Cheat System's better.

The save state system is far superior...
brightman
06-29-2002, 01:09 PM
Care to explain?? I don't see how thats the case. In ZSNES you can preview a save state before you load it, also you can change the way you load different save states, like if you prefer the ePSXe way you can set a key to the "Save State +" and whenever you press that key the save state slot inclements. If you like the Snes9x way where you press a key to save at that corresponding savestate you can set it up so it's like that.
So please explain, Tick. http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

like nesten=win
nesticle=dos
it doesnt stop me from using either though
btw. has anyone tried online play on zsnes cuz ive only done it on snes9x?

?? Nesticle isn't as good as Nesten emulation-wise, thats a known fact. Plus I don't like Nesticle's DOS gui that good either, mainly because of that bleeding hand and the fact that the menubar doesn't pause your game like ZSNES's.
