Yeah, it's my birthday today. :bday:
Shell Monsters is now 2/3 inserted, mostly (buggy) playable with the text that's in now. Just some dialouge left.
Hope I get lots of presents today. But, ah well, at least I got an old friend with me now that I think I'll play (never quite beat it thought. I'll see about that...)

HAPPY B-DAY! :bday:
  w00t! You're playing my baby! :drooling-anime:
I don't know about how you'll feel when you beat it, but I was depressed as hell when I beat SoM.
It's my favorite game in the entire great big bad wide universe and once I beat it, I was depressed because it was all oveeeeeer. :bigcry:
None of the (true) Seiken Densetsu games/sequels played in quite the same manner, and I loved that engine! SoE used it but I didn't like it as much because it wasn't really a Seiken Densetsu game. SD3 used the weapon 'charge up' really differently, and LoM was almost a totally different game.
What'd you name the characters?
Mine were the original Japanese defaults (More a rumor, not confirmed by Square)
Hero: Randi
Sprite: Popoie
Girl: Purim (I used Purin because there IS no "m" in the japanese language. mu just looks wrong at the end of a name.)
Sorry for the complete kinda "hyperness" in my typing, but SoM is a game I get excited about  (obviously)
BTW, SoM has the best music I've ever heard on SNES (Tales of Phantasia was good, but I will always love SoM's music)

Heh when it first came out I rented it a month or so later, loved it to pieces, but being from a family where you had to save your allowance to buy anything, I never got around to buying it for a long time, then I bought it for 30-50 bucks at Funcoland. (rip off, but I was desperate to own it. I at least got the box and instructions, though in poor condition.) If I had a job and the extra money, I'd pay anything to have an unopened mint condition copy of SoM just to keep on display or in storage somewhere in my room. Better yet, an unopened, mint condition copy of SD2. But then, there probably is no such thing because SoM is just so damned popular.
Btw, wasn't the Seiken Densetsu series the birthplace of the moogle? :moogle: (I'm not sure whether FF3 (6) came out before SoM in the US but I do know FFA (SD1) did, and I *think* the moogle status ailment started in FFA.)

I think it was about $40 or $50 on ebay. I used to rent it alot (but not having enough and being too young for a job, it was difficult to save my money to buy just a FF3us cart (but worth every penny when I did). Sadly, Square games tend to go for alot (I thought $50 for FF2us in like '97 was alot, but seeing as how I got the cart with box, worn-out manual, even the cardboard tray, that's pretty cheap). Ah well, I like the game alot, so I feel it was worth it. I did find a complete copy at a game store, but they wanted $100. Too much (didn't it sell for $75 at release?) for me, so I skipped.
I think the Moogles first appeared in Final Fantasy 3 (J), released in April 1990. I think Seiken Densetsu 1 was released late 1990 or early 1991 in Japan. Though there is that cancelled FDS game...
My birthday was nice. Got my favorite pizza, ice cream, and hung out. I got a GBA w/FF Tactics Advance, and a CD-burner. Also nice.

I already had a GBA (SP) but for my birthday on Oct. 9th, I also got FFT Advance! What a coincidence! ;)
I also got FF Origins. Still playing FF2, I know I'm getting close to beating it as the treasure count so far is about 90%
I only played FFTA for about an hour tho, because I'd rather play one game at a time, and also because I've Tactics'd myself out too much of late with Hoshigami, Tactics Ogre: Let us Cling together, Tactics Ogre: Knight of Lodis, Sayuki: Journey West, ect. I love tactics games, but I've played too many lately and I made myself (temporarily) sick of em.
