does anybody know how the cheats such as game genie codes work in nes emulators?

Umm... i guess you enter the game genie codes into where it says "Enter Game Genie codes."

How bout any game in particular? There's 8000+ Nes Roms, specify guy...

for instance...the zsnes.
there is a menu for cheats and a screen where it says game genie, pro action replay and other types of codes can be used but none have an effect.

i know the Jnes has a similar setup but i havent tried it

i just tried using two codes for megaman 3 and metroid on the Jnes and neither worked &nbsp;http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif

um....zsnes is a super nintendo emu. To get that to work you have to have the game running first. that you add the codes. then restart the game.

i downloaded the latest version of zsnes and tried that. &nbsp;still doesnt work. &nbsp;it would be pointless to add the feature if it has no use. &nbsp;still tryin http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cwm13.gif

umm... Are you talking about NES emulators or SNES emulators here? Megaman 3 and Metroid are nes games... Zsnes is an SNES emulator.

Also your codes have to be real codes. Not all codes work with all versions of roms.

ive been expirementing with snes and nes
cant get any to work
im gonna try different games too
hopefully ill figure it out cause i dont think anybody really cares enough about cheating to figure it out
its not the most important part of gaming

i finally know an example of the zsnes cheat usage :) (it takes me 3 years ;) , this is the first time i use a cheat file is zsnes :D)
a how-to guide:

* renommer le fichier CHT exactement comme le fichier ZIP qui contient la ROM du jeu (exemple supermariorpg.cht pour la ROM supermariorpg.zip),
* copier le fichier cheat dans le même dossier que le fichier ROM,
* charger le jeu dans l'émulateur,
* sélectionner Cheat, puis Add Code, puis Load.


* to get the .CHT file exactly as the file ZIP which contains the ROM name (supermariorpg.cht & supermariorpg.zip),
* to copy the cheat file in the same ROM file folder
* to load the game in the emulator,
* to select Cheat, then Add Code, then Load.

where i can find .cht files for a lot of games?

Anyone know why the cheat files are not coming within the emulator, as jnes, pj64, etc???
