BGB (http://www.bgbemu.cjb.net/) (Best sound and very accurate)
Custom GB (http://sz.redbit.ne.jp/~q-_-p/) (GUI in Japanese, sound is a bit glitchy)
Game Lad (http://gamelad.emuunlim.com/) (Comes with a great debugger)
GemuBoy (http://kiku2.hp.infoseek.co.jp/) (Japanese, English version here (http://www.gemuboy.int.ms/))
GEST (http://koti.mbnet.fi/gest_emu/) (Based on VisualBoyAdvance (http://vboy.emuhq.com/), very accurate, sound skips in Windows XP)
HeboWin (http://www.geocities.com/atuen000/) (Japanese emulator, but GUI is in English)
HelloGB (http://www.emuunlim.com/hgb/) (Fairly average emulator, but worth a try)
KiGB (http://kigb.emuunlim.com/) (Most accurate GB/GBC emulator around)
PlayGuy (http://www.emuxhaven.net/~playguy/) (Good emulator, but hasn't been updated in a while)
REW (An old favourite, download here (http://www.zophar.net/gb.html))
SMYGB (http://smy.billyjr.com/) (Good, but hasn't been updated for a long time, download here (http://www.zophar.net/gb.html))
TGB Dual (http://gigo.retrogames.com/) (Another good emulator with link support, unofficial English translation are here (http://www.zophar.net/gb.html), download the '7 build: 2053-0.96' one)
VisualBoyAdvance (http://vboy.emuhq.com/) (Does GB/GBC/GBA emulation, well worth a try)
WinGBC2ND (http://www.geocities.co.jp/SiliconValley-Sunnyvale/8916/WinGBC.htm) (yet another good GBC emulator, download here (http://www.geocities.co.jp/SiliconValley-Sunnyvale/8916/dl_w.htm), replace the '\' with a '/')

castlevania legends..
see how u can shoot fire from your whip and climb ropes?

matt1freek
10-26-2003, 12:51 PM
beware certain candles (like this one).. when u hit one the floor will crumble under your feet and you will fall into a pit full of re-appearing zombies .although it is possible to get out you have to kill all of the zombies over and over and over..
pretty much spells certain death..

and ladies and gentleman i present you the first boss.. he doesnt play around he will kill you very quickly if u dont memorize his simple patterns..
although not as good as the gba castlevanias i'd suggest picking this one up if you find it in a bargain bin

super mario land 2 awesome game!
if you havent played this b4 you missed out.. lots of mini-games and the rabbit ears power up lets you float down very slowly..
alot like mario world.. this is the game that led nintendo into the wario world franchise...

The Player of Doom

Hehe, I played wario land sometime I think...and maybe some mario land or? Ah, don't remember...but I think I've seen those rabbit ears somewhere else...

So, a female castlevania character, eh? That's new. That port of mmx looks ... well, bad. Nothing compared to the original :P but hey, it's still playable :)

Gargoyle's Quest 1!!

After playing so much Demons Crest on the SNES, I decided that it's about time I beat the games before that. Much to much surprise, the Nes and GB games are adventure/rpg/platform type games(like Zelda 2, but without the exp)

Man, that pic of 6 Gold Coins (MARIO) brings back memories. I've got that game on my actual gameboy, i got it about 6 years ago? hahaha. Something like that. That's the final boss right. Pretty cool game :D

matt1freek
06-30-2004, 06:50 PM
yep actually i think i took a screeny of every boss.
very easy game to beat..
considering in my old age i have been sucking supremely at old school games

lol matt...in your "old age"? Take it from me( I learned from experience), it's the Bud that's doing it :P

I have that cartridge...somewhere...can't seem to remember where's it at though <_<
Maybe I'll hunt it and actually play it again.

I always had trouble with 6 coins... I think there was only 1 dungeon I ever beat.
Then again, I never owned the game, so I didn't have a lot of time to play it.
I'm going to dig up the rom just to see if I can actualy beat it now...

That game was my first Gameboy game, it took me a while to complete as well... So many memories, the moon level was cool. The final level was bloody hard the first time too (If only my Gameboy's board hadn't melted on the floor of the plane :( :bigcry: )
