Well, I found a Japanese page with a walkthrough of Kaijyu Monogatari for NES (as the game's not in English, you're not very likely to find an English guide).
Kaijyu JPN Guide (http://www.geocities.co.jp/Playtown-Bingo/3948/kaijyu.html)
Interestingly, I found this while looking for help on another game, Tenshi no Uta (Song of the Angel), another SNES RPG (apparently based on an anime, and with a different game for PCE)with nice graphics and music (for the five minutes I could play before hitting the ol' language barrier). Interesting how I always find things I'm not looking for.

I think hte Snes Tenchi No Uta ia just a remake or port of the PC Engine game as it was made a year or 2 later after the PC Engine version. There also is a PC Engine cd only sequel.

KingMike, have you ever worked on a PC engine game? Or do you have any knowledge of how to hack them? Just curious have a question or two about a possible project, if you could email me when you can, at chrisrpg@romhacking.de

I've got some experience with hacking PC Engine games. You could ask me if you have any questions?

Btw, i don't think "tenchi" and "tenshi" is the same thing.
Tenchi I have no idea what it means. Tenshi means "angel."

Yes, Tenshi means "angel", and Tenchi means "heaven and earth", or "universe" according to my dictionary program.

People mix up the 2 quite often as there pronounced almost the same.
天使(てんし) Tenshi means Angel
天地(てんち) Tenchi Means Heaven and Earth and Top and Bottom as well
The first Kanji by it self means Heaven. Also I think there is another Kanji Compound for Heaven and Earth if I remember right.

dictionary programs help quite a bit, don't they? I found that game too. I went so far as finding out what the name means and then put it down. "Tenchi no Uta", according to my dictionary programs, is "Song of Heaven."
[edit] Waaiiiit a minute...doh, looks like Mike already got the "Song of" part...but wait a minute, Azazel also said that it was Tenchi...gack. now I gotta look at the GoodSNES name again x.X...What does the content of this thread have to do with it's topic, I might add? Confusing. oh well, topic looks more like "interesting japanese rpgs." in that case:
One RPG I found just looking around once, and I'd love to play in english is "Dun Quest - Majin Fuuin no Densetsu" (I'd translate it myself but my limited hacking experience as well as the kanji scare me, among other things. If I could work on those barrier's, this DEFINITELY looks like a translation I'd enjoy doing.)'
"Dun" may be a typo, the title screen of the game says "DANKUESTO" in other words Dan, not Dun. so the closest I can get of the full title english is "Dan Quest: Legend of the Devil Seal." Sounds cool. and graphics are good and the gameplay unique. (Although the hit accuracy can get almost as annoying as Lagoon's)

This is quite intresting translation, may I add.
Majin I have heard only once before, but I know it means devil. Although dictionary programs and sites doesn't mention this word. Weird.
And translating this word by word to your translation, I take it the words mean the following:
Fuuin - seal
Densetsu - legend
Oh yeah, I like to learn neat japanese words :P
Don't worry about the topic, really, this thread is rather old.

Yup, Densetsu (legend) is a word I know by heart, thanks to being an avid fan of the Seiken Densetsu (Trans: Legend of HolySword, or to those of the english persuasion, Secret of Mana, but I have a feeling you know both of these facts already) series. "Fuuin" I actually had to look up in J<->E Dictionary, and yes, it's seal, or at least the closest translation of "Fuuin" that made any sense.
Oh yeah, and Majin DID come out as devil in my dictionary program(s). I use JQuickTrans and JWPce, mostly. And some online ones occasionally.

Well, might be I spelled it wrong
I've only heard it in one anime, though, only one.
