Will updating the first version of the FF2 patch (v.95 or something like that) to the newest version (v.97 i think) affect my saved games?
Also can i just apply the patch to the v.95 patched FF2 file or do i need to download another japanese rom version and patch that?
Hopefully my questions made sense. http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cwm13.gif

I do not think it has any effect on your v.95 game. If you want to be completely sure, make a backup of the old file. I always do this when I apply any new patch. But again, unless you used the beta patch, you should have no problem.

And to answer your part about save games, if you're talking about the battery ram saves, there should be absolutely no problem, though I can't be sure about the Cygne and Oswan savestates. But I am pretty sure there shouldn't be any problems either.

Usually patching a patch over a patched rom ( http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cwm13.gif ) doesn't do anything at all to save games. But sometimes, if things were moved around in the newer patch, there might be unexpected glitches to the things that were moved around, or if the fonts were remapped the names for your characters might be messed up. I guess this isn't the case for this patch, since most of it is just fixing dialogue (which involved no pointers and therefore no moving around)
