View Full Version : Inquiries about the FF2 Patch Release

I will propose this to everyone. What should we do? Should we release the patch ASAP without doing another beta test and then release an error free patch a couple of days later or should we do the beta test and make sure we release an error-free translation. From my standpoint, I have checked over all my new dialogue and do not believe that there are many if at all line breaking errors but I will accept any solution. Reply in this thread and tell us what you think should be our course of action.

release the patch as it is now, with a readme file saying it is not as perfect as you would like it and that you-the player- might want to wait a few more days for the final patch. i am sure ther are very little errors.

I think it's much better to make one GOOD release instead of multiple bugged releases, based on personal experience. I just find it better to play a good patch.

But then again, it's not like a beta test can find pretty much every bug anyway, so I guess another patch release is inevitable. So I guess releasing it right away (as long as it doesn't have too many bad bugs) would be fine.

Since it is your guy's patch you people need to do with it what you want...I mean if you think that there isn't many or any errors...release it. BUT if you want to make it perfect or as close as can be then wait a bit and beta test. Again, I must stress that it really shouldn't be up to us...but thanks for asking! I can't wait to play FF2 though. Cheers! http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

RPGTess you said there were no errors with WSCamp right? so i don't see any reason not to release than. i found something cool today WSCamp has joypad support.

Well if you think that they aren't really any errors you could release it. Since this is only stage 1 and there is still stage 2.

http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smokin.gif Please release it now, i cant wait much longer... All these teaser screen shots are driving me insane.
I have yet to play FF2 and i would much rather play it on the wonderswan color version than the nes version.

It does? How? The ini file?

I've been using Thrustmapper for my Thrustmasters, but I would like some traditional joypad support.

And FF3 ROCKS! it is certainly one of the most fun 2d FF games next to FF5 http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

its easily one of my top 3 ff games and its also one fo the most (if not the most) innovative and important in the series.

I know everyone is excited. I wish I could just send my IPS file to everyone. However, the item descriptions are screwed up badly, the intro text is untranslated (probably will be done by the stage 2 release), and the battle commands read:
TAAC
MGC
ITIM
RUN

Hopefully, Squall and Chris were able to work on this. I played through the whole game and found it entirely playable and smooth. I really want to get this puppy out as i have other things to attend to. I am just about ready to infiltrate Romalia and stop the revival of the Dark One! Of course, i want my guys to level up abit so I have to do some Guild jobs. Oh the perils of the RPGamer!

BTW If you do not know what game I am talking about, for shame!

http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cwm13.gif I guess I should be for shame...I dont' know what that's from....sorry...I bet I'll kick myself if I knew... http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I've never played through FF2 or 3 so if its from them then that would be the reason...

I really wanna play FF2 with the rest of this crowd...but we can wait...I hope...

http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cwm40.gif Arc the lad, collection....Sorry never played it...I would be I really don't feel like spending 80 on a game. I played 60 for Lunar EB and I really don't know if it was worth that...

I'm not worried about a translation at this point, I just want them to release it! ....unless they wanna scrap thier efforts and do it for the gba http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Eh i doubt we'll be seeing the Remixes on GBA, maybe the upcoming ones, but the ones on Wonderswan i don't think will make it to GBA.

Me neither. Square won't remake the WSC games just so the US can play it http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cwm10.gif They would probably piss off Bandai anyway, if Bandai's already not pissed about Square moving to the GBA.

The FF3 Remix, however, will probably never be out on the WSC... The system is even getting replaced and no info has been released on it still.

I just wish that Bandai would get off their butts and release the wonderswan in the us. I mean the gba needs some competition... Lower the price of games and such. That would be great....I would buy the new red wonderswan...its cool lookin' http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

The problem is that not many people would buy its games... The only games on the WSC that would actually buy on the WSC would be FF and maybe the Digimon games. Hardly enough to start selling on.

After all, handheld making is a money-losing venture, the only profits come from the games.

Yeah of course, but I really ment they should have brought it out agaist the gameboy. The advance has too much power at the moment for something to topple it...even though I still think the red one is cool.

Bandai was going to release the WSC, but then news of GBA being released 6 months after the WSC came out dashed those hopes.
