Darnit, "Network too busy to play media at original format" right now... So no video... Why can't they have this is non-streaming media format *http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif ??

BTW I can hear the music though, it is by Nobuo Uematsu, how else can it be but great?

Too bad that I won't be able to play this game. Maybe years from now I'll have a enough money to play a game like this. I would rather buy a computer laptop first.

I still havent played FFX. No money to buy a PS2 or the #### game. And when XI comes out, youll have to buy a modem for the ps2 right? My brother had a PS2 for 1 year after they first came out. And it just burnt out a month ago. So Im not too sure I even want to get a PS2. If its only gonna last for ` year.

Yeah I haven't played FFX as well (no PS2 as well).

About FFXI though, I have my doubts about whether Square is prepared for this game. This is their first attempt and multiplayer gaming, so there is no doubt that the game won't be that smooth. Server problems, hacking, cheating, laming and other things will probably be present. Gamesharking was a big part of Phantasy Star Online and will probably be as well here.

Good thing is that they WILL be releasing this game on the PC, so no need to buy modems or anything.

Theres many other things to pay besides just the modem to play, theres too many to list. I wish it was like the dreamcast *With modem and all*, where you could use your own ISP address and stuff and be able to play online in a matter of minutes. Broadband is kind of too expensive.

ChrisRPG
05-02-2002, 08:08 PM
I didnt realize it was coming out for PC. Shows how much I know about current RPG's. or up and coming RPG's. hehe... Thats great, will you have to use broadband? So you still have to pay for monthly access too.?

SigmaX7
05-02-2002, 08:40 PM
I have to make sure I get a very powerful Laptop when I buy one for this game. I hope FFXI also has dial up modem option also, so I can play.

brightman
05-02-2002, 09:23 PM
Yeah, you still have to pay for both playonline access and FFXI access, to my best of knowledge.

SigmaX7

I guess I won't be able to play Final Fantasy XI then. I can't keep paying tons of money like that.

brightman
05-02-2002, 09:44 PM
Yeah... That's what chase many people from the MMORPG scene, the monthly fee. If Square wish to remain competitive with the other MMORPGs they should keep the fee around/less than $10US per month, but I don't know if they can do that.

DeathWyvern
05-02-2002, 09:51 PM
i thought it was only gona be 10 dollors a month for 1 character and 5 for each additional character?

brightman
05-02-2002, 10:15 PM
That was the Japanese Yen conversion I think, which means it may change here. However I don't know if the Playonline fee is factored into that.

I love that music! *http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif *I had a remix versioin that someone played and arranged themselves. But I dont no where to find it now. It had an electric guitar in it, and a little rock beat thrown in. I loved that one too. *http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

That's none other than the famous FF Prelude, it's in every FF game so far http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

BTW the remix piece you're talking about, I am not sure but it's possible that its the Final Fantasy X version of the prelude... It's guitar and rock.

And Angel, that's not the intro that ppl are talking about. The one I want to see is http://kefka.playonline.com/pv_streaming.html

The only FFXI I'll probably get is the FFXI OST, I already have the OSTs for the 10 other FF games. http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Yeah, I tried that, I opened up the file yesterday and got the mms://210.81.210.36/ffxi_op.asf address, it's ASF so only WMP can play it (I tried using RealOne but the installation process for the WM plugin never seem to finish.)

And your link is the Demo, which I can play fine, not the Opening Movie for FFXI, which is the subject of the topic.

Putting a PS2 on layaway this thursday. I wish I could come up with the whole thing, but Ive waited this long. I cant wait til I can play FFX. Then all projects will be on hold for at least 1 whole day. Though I dont see me getting a copy any time soon. http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/alien.gif

HAHAHA!! OK, now Nintendo's really screwed unless they lower the Gamecube price to $150 or $125 or something. Or the whole sales thing. Maybe include Super Mario Sunshine with the GC or something when it's released.

So does Nintendo... The Metroid game, Starfox Adventure, Super Mario X/Sunshine, Zelda all are scheduled to be out by the end of the year. Also they have some cool thrid-party games coming up as well.
