Here you go. *Bright, can you move this to the official site? *Hopefully, this will fix all dialogue releated problems (except the period thing which i mentioned many times, will be fixed with the Stage 2 release). *Any left over ones will be fixed for the final Stage 1 release. *Enjoy!

Tess...do you have a small summary of what this patch fixes...cuz I don't see any differences...that maybe just me...cuz I'm not that far yet. Was it supposed to fix the *garble* in the Words menu? (you know, the words you learn...) If I'm just not seeing it...forgive me cuz I'm been too busy to play lately... BUT thankz again for the WONDERFUL patch! :-D

From what I know, it fixes the dialogue problems. The garbled text in the Words menu will remain there for now.

I can't wait to start on Stage 2 dialogue. Spiff is translating it but he is also working on another project so we must be patient.
Speaking of which, there are several improvements coming on the way for FF2. New, detailed introductions to each character, the translated intro and ending, and one giant thing that I really want to do but will require great effort from our group. i would like to put face pictures (the ones the characters have in the menu) in the dialogue screen. For examplew, when Frioniel would speak:
[ ] No! Leonhart must be alive!

[ ]
Any thoughts about that? Again, we will have to see so do not get too excited.
If anyone knows anything about WSc programming, we could sure use the help

Maybe. If Chris can do it, yes. However he is very busy with DQ.

I have made some headway with it already, if I can get it to reveal itself completely.... It would be so nice. I am working on it as much as I can inbetween other project things, mostly DQ12. DQ12 doesnt have any compression, so I know that when its released, Ill have plenty more time to devote to it. http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

Excellent. What progress have you made regarding the dialogue thing anyway? If we can do this, we will need someone who has good art skills (like me:) that can make portraits for Hilda, the Emperor, Borgan, and Dark Knight. I do have Yoshitaka Amano's DAWN book which has alot of artwork for FF2 (plus 4, 3, and 1), including all of the main characters. Perhaps I can scan them and made some type of picture out of them.

Or just use these:
Hilda: http://www.ffcompendium.com/chara/2hilda-a.jpg
Emperor: http://www.ffcompendium.com/chara/2paramekia-a.jpg
Borgan: http://www.ffcompendium.com/chara/2borgan-a.jpg
Dark Knight: http://www.ffcompendium.com/chara/4-cecil-a3.jpg <-- (Can't find a FF2 Dark Knight pic, so use FF4 one http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif )
Just adjust their palettes and you got nice little portraits http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
If you need some Photoshop help though (like changing their resolution and adjusting colors) I would gladly help.

They are the same ones from DAWN. Another eason why Yoshitaka Amano is my favorite artist.

Yeah, I know that's where they got it from. It's not like Amano drew more than one picture of those characters, otherwise they'd be on the web too. That guy is so popular--for a good reason http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif .
