When will the ff2 translation stage 1 be 100%?
When will you start stage 2?
there has been no updates on ff2 for a month.

Im not sure stage 1 will ever get to 100%. if I can crack the compression in the intro and ending, and if I can figure out the very strange programming in the battle menu and the yes and no menu, then we have a chance. But right now I am very busy with dq12, and will not be wracking my brain on ff2 anymore until I release dq12, which should be very soon(the last round of beta is almost over). The stage 2 translation is still planned on, but we have not got any scripts back in english yet from the translator. Thus no progress can be made on that until we do. http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

Update from the translator. the busy life of working has prevented any work to be done on the scripts. But he says he hopes to get it going soon.

I guess I'll dredge the post up and provide a little update. I just started working on the scripts again yesterday and did some today as well, though for no more than 20 or so minutes. I trudged through a bit of the dialogue, but I'm still only about 1/5th of the way done. Though, I would benefit from an "official" name list, but it's no big deal I can just find/replace those later. I've been working around the control codes, but I was wondering if I could get a listing if all possible.
Damn boxes...

cgyne is great if you want to use save-states. plus most hacking docs will tell you how to edit cgyne save states (shameless plug: http://yavapai.mtgcraft.com/dquest/files/ has some great info on hacking ff2)
Now personally I prefer wscamp, it supports sound and joypads. no save states yet though... but the battery saves are cross compatable.

Great! I cannot wait to get started on the new dialogue. I have a lot of great ideas I want to implement and I know everyone would like to have a 100% correct script. Of course, lets not rush Chris:)
Hey Chris, can you send me a doc on compression? I would really like to know how you work with it.

dont worry about me anymore. I can handle it now. Dq12 is finally near a release. I have all day every day to work on the other projects now, well after this weekend. I can't beleive how much work I have done on theprojects already/ I have made a ton of progress. And it is all thanks to everyones helping out where they can, and brightman for stepping in where arch demon couldnt work anymore. Thanks everyone. The compressino in wsc actually shouldnt be as hard as the compression in SNES games. Because its the same assembly language as pc(x86 asm). And making a decompressor/recopmessor should be easier because I can use the code in the game to make my compression program - just modified a bit and use it on the pc. However cracking the actual compression routines is what takes all the time. And something I dont have practice with. So thats why its taking me so long to do it. But I feel that ff2 wont ever be complete until we can get the intro and ending cracked, translated, recompressed, and reinserted. All I can say is Im doing my best. It will be done sooner or later.

Great job, Chris....like I said before. "You guys are something else"...bringing to everyone what we have been deprived of...lots of great RPGs the US has never seen!! Kinda like Robin Hood....stealing from the rich and giving to the poor. Did I say "stealing"? oops, I meant "borrowing"...
Anyway, can't wait for the new FF2!!!
