Hello everyone. While I am waiting for the script for FF2 to begin Stage 2, I was wondering if anyone is working on the Arc the Lad: Ressurection of the Machine God WSC game. If not, I may be interested in working on it. Does anyone know where I could find it? Any one who would like to help is more than welcome:)

Whoops! It does not come out to July 4th. If not this one, how about Wild Card? Looks like a great Square RPG card game. I will take a look at it.

They have to keep it private, because if its publically posted on their site, its their liability, if its private, its yours.
Im going to be very hopeful that the relative silence on the boards this weekend implies that everyone's busy working on stuff that I can try soon (yeah, Im bored..yeah).

Yes it does for several people. Tomorow gideons new RPG game is being released. I cant wait to play it. Anything different from dq12 is a blessing right now. He still hasnt announced the title yet. But it will be out tomorow. And I have been working on dq2 intro text speed of course, the startup screen for dq12, and a little tracing of ff2. ( I want to crack that darn compression already.)

Fair enough. If anyone wants to email me about it, my address is RPGTess@aol.com
Regarding Wild Card, I am going to play with it a little bit tomorrow and see if I can crack it. The problem is that a whole chunk of haragana and katanana (forgive my spelling) is jumbled together and it is difficult to figure out where any changes I make will appear. Remember, I am still relatively new at this http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif I will report my progress tomorrow.
BTW Chris, any word from Spiff yet? Or Squall for that matter? My emails have gone unanswered....

hi all and i would like to say i cant wait to play dq12 reprise. but since you guys were talking about games to translate i was wondering why not try to translate those Hunter X Hunter games... the animation is really good but since i cant understand japanese i have no idea about the games.. i heard there is one for ps2 and a couple for gba and wsc.

They seem to be for gbc, gba, wsc, ps2... Hmm... how about it, guys?

I looked into the gbc versions before rpgone moved here to emuxhaven actually. thats weird. The monster hunter and treasure hunter versions have an uncompressed font but thats about as far as I got with it. This might be a good one to consider. Its on a few systems too. But right now I will not be doing anything new. Especially with my nightmare I call dq12.(as a matter of fact Im considering scrapping the other language releases of it too) However rpgtess might have the time right now.

^_^ that would be kewl if you guys translate the Hunter X Hunter games but if you dont i wont complain since i know games take FOREVER to translate and dumping and stuff like that... but like i said i cant wait to play the translated dq12 reprise... um ChrisRPG maybe like updating the site a little will help the impatience with other people somewhat ^_^ but its your choice... ^_^ http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/uzi.gif

If you want to follow the progress of the translation, read the topics where we're discussing it, and you'll get a pretty good idea how they're doing (great, btw).
Its pretty easy to figure out, and it'll save you asking them about the progress, because it's already being discussed.

DQ1 is pretty much flawless by now, save some minor quips. Actually both games are pretty much running find, just one or two bugs here or there.

I can tell you that as soon as the testers finish. There are 2 in particular. I will fix all the bugs at once from them. Because when I fix one at a time it seems to mess other things up too. Creating a huge circle of endless bugs and errors. So I'd rather do it all at once and release it without any further testing. And that will be the final version. This should happen soon I hope.

I Hope that someday that someone does try to translate the Wonderswan Arc the Lad game. Because I know that Workingdesigns won't do it. Hey I got this sick idea, how about first translate the game, then throw the whole translation away and rewrite it, like Workingdesigns does? It may take 2,3, or even 4, 5 to 11 years, but it will be worth it.

HeHe Good point, Sig. I am waiting to find a rom of it and when I do, I will see what I can do. If all goes well, I will purchase the cart to avoid legal problems and start the project. Of course, it depends on the difficulty of the cart:)
I really would like to do it as I have finished all three Arc the Lad games and I could make a consistent and flowing script.

I might plan on ordering it soon too. BTW, I just played Arc 1 and almost done with part 2, is Arc 3 as hard as 2?

I think arc the lad would be the best choice for a new project, but I already said that. Hopefully everything is not compressed. I also am proud of the fact that you said you would purchase the cart if all goes well. I always buy the game if I am translating it. Its a wise thing to do. I wish more people would actually by the games, even if they never use the actual cartridge. At least they would be supporting the programmers that work so hard at games.

Arc 3 is the best game of the series IMHO. The story is alot better and the characters are much more interesting. Plus, the battle system is the best and most refined of the collection.

Doesn't this game take place after part 3? I'm suprised that it would be on the Wonderswan at all, because it was made from Sony. Of course Sony used to make games on other systems too. But I thought that they stop doing that because of the PS and PS2.

Does anyone know a good place to order this game. So I don't have to feel guilty playing it on an EMU.
