I have offered the use of my connections to Help in the translating of some japanese text. If I get the text and someone sends it in a HTML form then I can get some of it translated but time is of the essence. I only have about 7 days to get it to my people and get it translated. Some of those online translaters dont work well with japanese http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cwm11.gif

Can you elaborate? Who's doing the translating? Why 7 days? What is your incentive in this?

Besides, translation is long term, it's hard to come up with a script in seven days (maybe Chris has something in reserve though). But it would be better if you tell "your people" to contact us directly.

Hes talking about zoids saga GBA. Sorry dq1 and 2 and ff2 has really kept me busy. I have had to totally redo the way *menus are placed on screen in dq12 to take out some graphics glithes. And the battle dialogue I thought was done but I had to do more asm work on it too to display all lines 1 line under each other instead of a line of empty space between lines in some places. So that has not been fun. I have not been able to even look at zoids. My time has been very limited lately. I am just as eager to see this translated too. But, without any people who can help dump script, it makes it very hard to do it in a quick manner. It may just have to wait for a while. At least until I get dq12 done. It is so close to being done. I cant stop working on it, because Ill loose track of what is what, and my train of thought. FF2 on the other hand is nothing more than a pain in my side! The menu for battle is just so weird, and I guess I dont have enough experience with wsc programming to change it properly yet. These 2 projects are the main ones that I will work on for now. When dq12 is done, I will start the work for other RPGONE projects, unless someone that knows how to dump scripts wants to do this for us, while I finish my dq12 work. Sorry. I am a bit overwhelmed at the moment. *http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cwm14.gif
Oh and I dont want to translate it with a website like babelfish. They are not accurate at all. And most of the time give a sentence that makes no sense at all in English. Id like it to be done properly.

Hey Man it is no problem. But In response to Brightman I cant get it to my people directly because oddly they have no internet access and In 7 days school will take off for regents week and by that time all the finals will be over. I wouldnt be able to give them the data for at least 3 months. That is a long period of time *http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cwm14.gif *If I can get in contact with someone with dumping experience i'll see if i can get them to work with *u guys.

I don't believe they are released yet, but I think the person doing the translations for the GBC are doing the one for the GBA.

And oh yes, I understand your urgency now... Maybe you can mail them the scripts? I dunno. Even if you give it to them now they might not be able to get them back to you until three months after anyway.

See thats the funny thing. The students taking Jap would help but I would see if I could get the Japanese department leader to translate some or even the actually Japanese students. My school has lots of Asian kids

Well this game must be very much wanted, because I get emails all the time asking me to translate it. But I am only 1 person. I will put a lot of effort into it once I get dq12 and FF2 to where they should be. And petience will give the Zoids patch a nice quality translation too. Ill devote just as much energy and time to it, once I have the time freed up. I promise.

Do you guys know a site that has FAQ's and software I can download that can teach me some of that stuff http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cwm15.gif

http://www.romhacking.org/text.html#dump

They all look pretty useful, and each seem to serve their own purpose. But I'll leave the advice to a more experience hacker.  http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

It'd be good if you save it under Unicode... If you don't know what that is, that's a newly developed set of character types that incorporates every kind of writing in the world http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

But otherwise, just use the character set that comes with Windows.

Yea I know about Unicode its in pretty much every word processing program. But how can I get it to even let me paste it as unicode without using those recognizers. they only thing that will show up will be "http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif???" instead of Jap. Heh I just wanna say u guys must have infinite patience to have learned this stuff
