Are you guys working on stage 2? If so, did you found any differences between the Famicom and WSC version dialog? Or is it still the same.

We are still finishing up stage 1.  Spiff is currently translating the text so when he is done, I will begin the text insertion http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif From experience, there is indeed new text and new keywords, but nothing major was added.

The text is different. And when you see stage 2 youll see a difference. I think the story is better in the Japanese WSC version. From what Ive been able to see of it so far. However let me stress that stage 2 will be take a while to do. I am getting help with a Variable Width Font so that most of the abbreviations can be taken out of menus, and I am trying to work on ...
8character names
more letters for item and spell names, and 1 spell and 1 item on 1 line instead of 2. So that the full word will fit.
Compression all translated.
Better translation all around.

However this is going to take a while to accomplish, as I have no help in these areas. And not all that much is known for WSC programming yet. Its not that nice of a programming job either.

If you feel that you would still play the game with the errors that RPGTess has mentioned. Then the next release with any more of my work in it wont be until stage 2. Which will be a long wait, or we can wait for a few days and try to fix what we can now, and then release a better patch to last until I can get all the programing issues taken care of in the stage 2 release. because I dont have the time to make release after release on the same project. I have many projects to take care of at the same time. stage 1 then stage 2. Was what I agreed to. And if the patch is released now as is... It was not my idea. RPGTess is the project leader, and he will make all final decisions on when his patch will be released.

Don't worry so much Chris! I'm sure you guys are doing a great job on this! http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cwm40.gif Later.

Well said, Chris  http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
I would like to release the patch as soon as the item descriptions are fixed.  That way, everyone should have no problem whatsoever in playing and understanding the game.  That is the point of the Stage 1 translation.   The more accurate translation has always been the focus of stage 2.

Exactly. Think of Stage 1 as a more elaborate version of Kalas's FF1 hack, with a script "written" by RPGTess himself with the help of Demi's script--so that people can get interested in the game and be able to play it in English. Stage 2 will be the full-blown, full feature patch that everyone in the future will use to play http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif And it won't take only 4 weeks like Stage 1 did, of course.
