Hey, great to see you, we need as many old members as we can right now as the board is basically not very active.
And what PS2 emulator are you talking about?

i can tell u already that it isnt real cuz there arent any out yet...
Thats what I said, because awhile ago I heard that it couldn't be done unless windows would run in 128 graphics mode. But with Windows XP out I'm not so certain.

Umm... Not really... The point of emulation is so that the console would run in Windows 32-bit mode and Windows-compatible instructions, so there's no need for 128-bit colors or whatever.

I'm not paying $300 bucks just for FF, sorry. I have two DVD players so that is no excuse.
brightman
04-01-2002, 08:25 PM
You mean $350 (PS2->$300 + FFX->$50)...
I guess if the price ever drops I'll consider it... That is if Final Fantasy XII becomes what I would like it to become as well.

i wouldnt just buy a PSX for FFX that would b stupid.... it has a LOT more good games...
brightman
04-01-2002, 10:23 PM
it has a lot of other good games but we don't need to play them... The other systems have a lot of good games too...
But FFX and the other FF games are "must-haves" for me, so if I get a PS2 it would be solely for FFX and FFXII.

Metal Gear Solid 2 is a must have ps2 game too.
So is ZOE.

When I was searching for some of those downloadable psx games you mentioned This site popped up that listed the contents of my C drive!(Good thing I keep important stuff in my other drive)
Do you know how they did that, mr. 31337 hax0r?

Bah... Don't care about those. http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
There are must-haves on the X-Box and Gamecube too... Not that I care either.

Are RPGs the only games you care for?
I've almost beat FFX and It's a great game but you shouldn't buy a ps2 just for FFX or FFXII.

Umm... No, but RPGs are really the only console games I care for. I am more of a PC Gamer...
Don't get the wrong idea, though, I like playing other console games too, I just don't want to spend too much time and money on them.

Umm... OK, you have to stick to the topic... This is a PSX/DC Discussion forum, not an avatar making forum.
Yes I make my own avatars.

I wouldn't buy ps2 just for FFX. Especially for how agravating the game (mainly the ball sport thing) is...
brightman
04-04-2002, 06:57 AM
Yeah, I heard Blitzball is pretty annoying, but if I ever get a PS2 it would be because of the fact that I want FFX, so in a sense "I am getting a PS2 just for FFX."
But once I get one of course I'll be getting other games to get my money's worth, of course. Plus I already have some PSX games that I can play on it.

Where did you guys hear that blitzball is annoying? It's a fun minigame that's like soccer, football and swimming and it's better than any other FF minigame.
metaphysics

it gets really annoying after playing it for a while....
brightman
04-05-2002, 07:17 PM
Don't most FF minigames get annoying after a while? Those FFVII Gold Saucer games are all annoying, FFIX's Chocobo Hot and Cold is annoying after a while, FFVIII's Chocobo puzzles are annoying... Etc., Etc.
I like the card games in FF8-9 though.

Hehe I see they have a trap for lamers that go looking for PSX games. Thats dirt easy. *http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif 'Tis nothing more than a link that points u toward ur C:\ drive. And its not a hack for your information. If it was then u'd be hacking ur own HD everytime u open Windows Explorer. Also thats Mr. 3|173 H4X0R http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
Example of the code http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif (file:///C:\)
And Bright the minigames are 1 of the reasons the clock on my ff7 save is maxed out. I loved the minigames, I play 'em to this day. And thats 1 reason I didnt like FF8 at first. Only the one card game. Minigames are a nice distraction, especially if you're stuck. Also they help break up the pace of the random battles. More Minigames the better IMO.

lol... I guess it's a matter of taste. I just find the FF7 games to be crappier versions of games that I already played and grown tired off, like the snowboarding games, submarine games, motorcycle games... All these games have been done over and over again and I guess I was just tired of them.
But as for the card games in FF8 and FF9, I really like those because it's something new I guess. Plus in FF8 they can give you some nice things in return.

yah the mini games can be fun... too badd Chrono Cross doesnt have many games http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif

The Chrono series isn't exactly known for its mini-games... CT had that pointless and stupid future racing thing and CC had the dumb spinning the wheel thing. RPG minigames are ruled by Dragon Warrior and Final Fantasy.
