how long do you think it'll take for pcsx2 to play commerical games? I'm betting another year, till it has mgs2 fully playable...

MGS? I think that would be a harder game to emulate... I think one of the launch games or a PSX commercial game might be playable in a year and a half. I don't think MGS or Final fantasy X or some complicated game like that would be emulated and fully playable in 3-4 years.

i thought that our Pc's arent powerful enough to play a playstation 2 game oh yea i was thinkin the Xbox games should b easy 2 emulate they use a pentium 3 celeron and geforce 3 so by reasoning if you have a pentium 3 celeron or more and a gforce 3 or more you should b able 2 run Xbox would i b right as it doesnt have 2 recompile the image i dunno its kinda complicated

Yes, X-Box and PCs have similar processor architecture so emulation of its CPU shouldn't be too hard.
PS2 however, by the simple fact that its a hard console to develop software in, may be a tad harder to emulate.

i know but it uses the same type of processor as the last playstation the RISC i think it is i havent researched it but i think thats wat it was and they hadnt 2 much problems as far as i can see emulating it

PSX uses a MIPS R3000. The PS2 uses FOUR CPUs, including a MIPS, so you'll have to emulate all four of those processors.

lol... If emulator authors are indeed such mindless workers, that would be the day http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
