Is pete's GPU plugin the best cuz that's the only one I hear a lot about.

Pete's is the best for NVidia and ATI cards. Lewpy's the best for 3dfx cards. Lewpy's GPU is actually as good if not better than Pete's in some cases, but it only supports glide.
