This place (ign) (http://ps2.ign.com/articles/090/090637p1.html) has a topic that you'll see if you click it that says the FF games 7, 8, and 9 will not be bundled when released for PS2... but that still means they'll be released for PS2! hmmm... enhanced maybe? can't wait...

That's from January 2001. Since then Square has said that they don't have enough resources to do such a thing--due to the bombing of the FF movie.
Of course, with the renewed focus of Square on FF games, this might come true once again.

Ooops uhm... I don't pay attention to dates... I found that in a search page... and the FF Movie wasn't that bad...

It wasn't too bad if you're used to that kinda story (the RPG style) but most people aren't and it failed miserably. Square spent $150 million to make it and it returned $25 million.

The FF movie has almost nothing to do with the FF games.

Except for the fact that it also has a cid in it (Dr. sid) and the fact that it doesn't have much/anything to deal w/ the games is a fact similar to the games also... they don't have much to do with each other either...

Well, the Gaia/Spirit thing is kinda like the FF7 lifestream thing but thats it. And the collecting seven spirit thing kinda resemble RPGs.

I didn't think it was that bad, I mean, the gfx in the movie were just plain amazing, I doubt there will ever be another one, unless of corse they can come up with enough money and a better story line http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif. Most people don't like the movie, I got all psyched up over it, and went the first day first showing, and there was hardly anyone there, and the movie was all right...

Actually, it was one of the best midday openings in history, it made like $15 million on the first day (Wednesday) or something, then it dwindled to nothing by the time the weekend came.
I saw it on thursday and the theater was half full. I actually liked it but then it just became any other average movie. Oh well.

i don't think they will make more of these stuff...maybe they will stick to comedy like toy story and monsters inc

I think that in twenty-thirty years, live action movies will be obsolete and everything will be computerized... And probably all movies will be CGI.
Just a possibility tho.

That of what was really bad with the movie was the magic! Every FF game has had magic! Did the movie? No!
Sheesh, square messed up really bad there.

Yup, it really wasn't a fantasy movie in the magical sense. But it was pretty spiritual, like some of the FF movies, so I guess you can say its FF related.
You can't really look at the material things of the movie, since they aren't that many correlations with the game, but if you look at some of the basic ideas the FF elements are there. (well the chocobo also makes a tiny cameo http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif )
