Me and a friend tried to link up in CFC to trade right?
so he connected to my computer then we both went to link and just to test out the linkup thing we tried to trade card albums.  Then we both pressed "A" on that "Link preparations complete?" screen and....nothing happened, I was able to press the B button to exit that screen but my friend was stuck in that screen and couldnt do anything but reset the game...

Neopop's linking feature is in its infancy stage you can say. Unless someone decides to pick up the Neopop project and and update it, i don't think that anything can be done. You can actually link to ur own computer and trade with yourself. You need to open 2 instances of Neopop and connect by listening in one instance and connecting on the other. I have managed to trade between CFC and MotM to get the secret characters. But it is very rare that u can get the link to work properly though.

How long does that take, usually? (also, what do you need to do for that, assuming that the link works?)

Just open up 2 instances of NeoPop (latest version). Open the 'connect' dialog box on both instances. Then press listen on one instance and then connect on the other. It should then give a msg saying that you have connected. Next make sure that u have a.ngf file of the CFC game that u want to upload to MotM. Open both roms - one in one of the NeoPop and the other in the other. Then go to Pocket Link in CFC and CFC Link in MotM. Then follow the instructions and it should work. If ur CFC is 100% complete then u will get all secret characters and 5000vs in MotM. Should work in about 2-4 tries. Hope this helps.
