Hi there,

Been following Neopops progress and it's coming along very nicely, a big thank you to the emulator author!

One thing puzzles me is that no matter what I do I only get 96-97% performance. No matter what frame skip value I use the figure stays the same which is also odd as it should rise.

It's also weird because at 97% it should be very fluid but it's chunking all over the place graphically & sonically.

System is a P4 1.7gig
SB live (btw sound on or off makes no difference)
Geforce 3
512mb ram

Using the latest verfied Nvidia drivers (not beta's) and the SB Live has no updated XP drivers. DirectX 8.1 as per XP

What it seems to be doing is actually being emulated at 97% but there's something throttling the update in some way that the frame skip does not budge?

Any idea's please?

Same problem here. Except my system's even better:

AMD Athlon XP 2100+
SB Audigy Player
ATI Radeon 8500 64MB
512MB RAM

So it's not a PC specific problem, it's something up with NeoPop. So what's going on here neopop_uk? I've noticed there's no VSync option...

Ah, that's good to see....

You have a different mix of hardware but the same probelm..

Lets hope for a fix

Nope disabling sound doesn't bring it up to 100% for me either. Nothing does. And lately it seems like its even slower. Hopefully this can be addressed.

Sound disabled, Frameskip at 7, Zoom at 1x, B+W NGP Mode, and it still hovers at 97-99%.....

400 Mhz P2
128MB Ram
ATI Rage 3d

Well, I can live with it for now. Lets worry about optimizations later.......

I'm presuming that there's some speed throttling code in the emulator and maybe it's having a glitch..

I base that on the fact that the speed never climbs even on a huge frame skip, surely the emu would run well in excess of 100% on a frame skip 7?

Saying that...what do I know http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Weird...

mine runs fine (not 100%, but the sound emulation is almost perfect and i get no skips)

My system's a PIII 450, 394mb of pc133 ram, geforce2mx, and a generic soundcard. Odd...

What is the problem? I'm using neopop 0.57 and I'm on 100%.
Using athlon 1400, 256 *DDR Ram and Windows Xp
I try to underclock my athlon to 1 Ghz and It work the same.
Sound on and stereo 44 Khz
Frameskip FS0 show all frames, video Zoom x3

Well its always 97% or 98% in my system, graphics shaking and sound skipping. I've tried Riven's settings and its the same 97-98 with same effects. There IS a bug... But so far I can't tell what it is.

I've tested NeoPop in a P4 2Ghz with windows xp and I get 100% speed, but with frame skiping... in any window mode, and without sound.

With fram skiping I mean Neopop skips frames, and it shouldn't do it...

I've re-written the % display using a 'performance counter' which is much more accurate than before. See the main website for more info...

BTW. The reason some of you were getting 97% is because the values were calculated as an average over 6 frames IIRC, so it wasn't as bad as you think - still doesn't matter now.
