When I got my hands on NeoPop 0.68, one of the first ROMs I tried was Gals Fighters (to see if it really worked). To my disappointment, I saw exactly the same problems. I'm not enough of an expert to be able to tell if it froze on the same moves but the symptoms are very similar (freezing, 'death twinges' and some error messages like '[PC 204423] Unknown Intruction C6', '[PC 3000A2] Unknown Intruction 55' and '[PC 000006] SWI 7 is not valid.').

I'm using an AMD Athlon XP 2100+, an ATI Radeon 8500 and Windows XP Home Edition. And I tried three different (but all GoodNGPx verified) ROMs.

I have the same problem..the special moves in the intro don't crash the game anymore, but ingame moves like the bird-attack of nakoruru crash the game.  http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif

Don't give up hoping, gentlemen! I'm sure it will be fixed soon with our friend neopop_uk's effort. That is already a nice point that it doesn't freeze in the intro anymore! http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

But of course, let's keep reporting the bugs we find so that we can make our role helping completely emulate the system. http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

:-( I don't understand!

I played it right through to the ending squcene with "nakoruru" - I used lots of specials, her wolf attack, punch and i'm pretty sure the bird attack was used... with no problems.

The only bug I found was a 'link-up' failure during the intro.

Oh man!

I'll look into it, maybe I uploaded the wrong file or something...
seems unlikely.

Yeah, I haven't gotten any problems with Nakoruru's bird attacks.

Strange..perhaps it's the rom version?? I use 'Gals Fighters(UE) [!]. When i make the bird attack with nakoruru ( press right, down, left + A button) the game crashes with many different error messages.  http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif  Hmm..i'll just send you a saved state before the error messages appears.

Both Nakoruru's QCB+A and QCB+B bird attacks work fine here. No crashes. And I am using the same rom as you. (though maybe you can scan your rom with GoodRom and see if it IS that rom)

It's still happening. Even in the intro. Sometimes the game goes through the intro twice without encountering a move the makes it freeze up but it can also happen much earlier.

Hmm... Now that you mention it, yeah, Nakoruru's move crashes in the intro.

I'm looking into it now! I know what moves to try.
Guess I was just lucky it didn't crash.

There is a new version out today (0.69/1.04), but it doesn't fix anything much - the improvements are aimed atr the demo scene, with the new debugger features being the majority.

Thanks for the help.

Is it just me or hasn't the website been updated in a while? I've been in a few times but saw that it wasn't updated. I stumbled across 0.68/1.03 by accident at another emu page. So can anyone tell me where to go to download 0.69/1.04 and what's happening with the website?

thanx. everything is fine now. by the way, i just downloaded the latest version and there are still problems with gals fighters. it seems to randomly freeze & or bring up error messages. It also resets all the time due to 'link failure' whenever i am trying to play. well i've updated the bugs file with some minor changes. but i'll need to re-look at gals fighters. by the way, is anyone interested in having a 'fixed' version of CFC? i'm currently hex hacking both versions to fix spelling errors and re-describe a few card descriptions. If anyon has the proper names for characters (if you think is wrong) of card descripions can you please email me at Timepaladin@hotmail.com. thanx again.

Now only scanlines are missing. http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

Just kidding, fine job, neopop_uk. http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif BTW, I'll update the Portuguese-BR translation to the most recent version as soon as I get a little more time.

Yay! It works! Two moves that froze the game before now work fine! However, there is one very small problem that still remains.

In the intro, just before the first segment of gameplay, a few frames of corruption appear:

What? No PNG images allowed? (http://home.graffiti.net/lillymon/galsfighters.png)

Maybe I'm just being picky, or maybe it's just my system. But has anyone else got this?

Hmm, strange problem. I don't have this one, though.
