may i kindly request information about the progress of the new version of glide? i'm curious as to how it's coming along, haven't heard much in the past week or so, not trying to sound picky, just wanted to know how it was going...if i knew anything about programming and emulation, i'd help out, but alas i am an idiot lol

Hi guys,

I'm not fussed about updates and stuff, they just make you desperate to get your hands on the release even more than you do already.
When it's ready it'll be here.

What I have noticed though (unless I'm mistaken) is that Dave doesn't seem to have posted anything in the usual forums. So he's either very busy on plugin, or maybe has "real-life" stuff going on. What I'd prefer to see is a post from Dave just saying he's alive and well. http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

I still have 3 things I want to have fixed on the plugin before the next release: fog, large textures, and environment mapping.

Give me 1-3 weeks to finish these up & then a week to do the compatibility list, and then hopefully it'll be released.

Hi guys,

Dave,

Seeing that you don't seem to mind being asked about answering questions about, and revealing release dates.
Maybe it might be a good idea to get a sticky thread with the approxiamate date of a next release (obviously, when you know yourself http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif) , so that people don't have to keep asking you all the time. Maybe even with a small progress report about your plugin.

Just an idea http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Or maybe Dave could put some screenshots of emulated games of the next version on his webpage.

Progress report since I got back from trip (did all this yesterday):

*Fixed large textures http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif yay!
*Added that "Automatic" filtering mode.
*Improved texrect coordinates so they align better.
*Fixed some misc. misalignments on things like the Zelda magic meter being a few pixels too large.
v 0.182

I think I'll try to post more progress reports. *I've been saying "soon, soon, soon" and it looks like nothing is happening. *Lots is happening and being fixed.

More Progress

Here's what I accomplished today:

*Figured out everything about FPS and VI/s and now there are 3 different types of speed counters:
1. frames per second (FPS)
2. vertical interrupts per second (VI/S)
3. percent speed to n64, 100% means full speed (actually just VI/s scaled to a percentage)
*Re-implemented code for the "top view problem" where colored objects showed in some areas. *I had to re-do this because of the new texture code.

To Dave: Congratulations for this plugin. I´m looking forward for the next release. My question is: Can you tell me if the next version fixed the text problems on Hybrid Heaven?

LD.
06-26-2002, 01:32 PM
I remember Ogy posting this screenshot over at EmuTalk.net, and saying that the Hybrid Heaven text was one of the best things that new texture code fixed http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

<font color='#000000'>Alright, more status:

Yesterday, we decided that fog is as good as it is going to get for a while, so it WILL be included in the new release, and is already done. &nbsp; It is not perfect density, but it's at the point where I'd rather play with fog than without.

Today:
*Fixed the other part of the >256 problem. &nbsp; Now I can't find a single texture that has this problem in any game. http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
