Hi guys,
I'm fortunate enough to be getting a new comp. soon. It's gonna have a Geforce 4 (crappy mx though) graphics card. But I'd really love to keep my Voodoo 3 2000 PCI also for this plugin, is this possible ?
thanks in advance for any answers http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
1-0 to the England, 1-0 to the England http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cwm12.gif http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cwm12.gif
If at least one of the cards is a PCI card, then it's perfectly possible. But if both your Voodoo and Geforce are AGP, then AFAIK you're SOL http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif

OK... my Banshee card is starting to go out. http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif So, I was thinking of getting a Voodoo 5 PCI to hold me off until I can afford a whole new PC. So, would I be able to use a Voodoo 5 PCI alongside a Radeon2 AGP? (when it comes out, of course.) 'Cause that would totally rock...

Oh, and what does SOL mean? http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif
Yep, using a PCI against an AGP card should be fine. You might run into problems somewhere though. Your best bet is to get a Voodoo2 PCI with pass-through http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

What is pass trough??

You take the output from your main gfx card and plug it into the back of your Voodoo, then plug the output of the Voodoo into your monitor. Now whenever you're not using the Voodoo, you see the output from your main card. And whenever you switch to Glide, the main card's display cuts out and the Voodoo's kicks in.
That's pass-through http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
AFAIK, it's only available to Voodoo 1 and 2 boards.

I have a similar setup.. Works perfectly fine, but I need to switch between default destops to use the full capabilities of the voodoo 5 pci..
