I take it this is a pic of your plugin directory? Well by the looks of it, I take it you're using a Glide wrapper. In order for anyone to help you, you will need to tell us a few things about your system. Or you can look into it on your own. Check the FAQ under the help menu in PJ64 and you should be able to locate system requirements. If your computer doesn't meet these, then you're pretty much screwed. But since you're not using a Glide based video card (apparently), then I wouldn't use Glide as my video plugin. Try using Jabo Direct3D 6 or 7 (both included with PJ64 1.5)
And if you are using a Glide based card (3DFX-Voodoo series) then you shouldn't have many problems with Glide. Let us know your specs.

If you want to use a plugin with Glide64, then you HAVE to use eVoodoo ( http://evoodoo.emulation64.com ?). It's the only wrapper that supports the Glide3x API that Glide64 uses http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

My bad

"S3 Graphics Inc. ProSavage"

Dunno if that is supposed to be your graphics card or not. If so, it's a little vague. Personally I've never heard of that card.

Seriously though, you don't use the plugins with Glide (Glide is a plugin), you use them with the emulator. But yes, if he is not using a Glide-compatible card, he will need a wrapper to use Glide64, but like I said, he could always use Jabo D3D for graphics.

D'oh, my bad. I meant use an emulator with a plugin ;)

Jabo's is pretty sucky with an S3 Savage if I remember rightly, could be wrong though.

Well I assume you have tried running it with everything that is not needed, shutted down? Perhaps you need to format, do a clean OS install and then try it again.

That's right, I think. While it actually has 64Mb of RAM, the way the Voodoo5 works is by splitting the RAM between the two TMU things. It's basically two 32Mb cards sharing the workload. Or something.

You wanna translate that into Español jediknight ;)?

I remember when I checked all the memory for Ogy's voodoo5, they didn't seem to add up to 64, but rather 32. *Each TMU seemed to have 16 MB on it, & there were only 2 TMUs. So... dunno what happened here...

Reznor007

OK...the card sees the RAM as 64MB, and indeed can allocate up to a 64MB framebuffer. However, since each texture has to be copied for each chip, no more than 32MB worth of textures can be allocated. Usually in DirectX it is reported as 30.5MB(or around there).

Each chip only has a single TMU, but has 2 pixel pipelines. When multitexturing, each pipeline re-uses the same TMU. When there are dual chips, things are still detected as 2 TMU since each chip draws half of the same scene.

they advertise for 64mb but the only usable texture area is 32

Yeah... REalistically, it's only 32 mb or 40 mb usable memory, but technically, it is 64 mb ram.. That's how the voodoo 5 achieves it's memory bandwidth.. It uses cheaper sdr ram but splits the memory between each VSA-100 chip so each gets it's own highway to the memory.. The geforce 2 ultra has the same bandwidth but uses ddr ram instead of SLI..
