For weeks I've been contemplating a new graphics card. New games don't like my Voodoo 3. Windows Update doesn't like my Voodoo 3. And 1964 certainly didn't like my voodoo 3.
I finally decided that on Saturday I would go into town and get a brand-spanking new GeForce. I'd be able to play games in lovely high resolutions, and my skeletons wouldn't be blue in Castlevania.
A morning's check of Emu64 sent me looking for new third-party drivers though. if I was gonna kiss my voodoo goodbye I might as well see whether Glide64 was any good first.
I finally found a set of drivers that work well with XP. After rebooting six times to make absolutely sure the things were steady, i tried Glide64.
I spent the whole of Sunday playing Mario Kart at 1024x768 res.
Not only have you saved me a fortune, you've made me appreciate my lovely graphics card again. VOODOOS ROCK. Who cares if you can't render in a window - who plays games windowed? http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif Who cares about fancy 32-bit rendering, it's not as Joe Average can tell the difference anyway...
All I know is that I love my voodoo just like I did two years ago. And my skeletons aren't blue, which rocks out.
Cheers.
