Hehehe, this is a funny one... in certain text letters and numbers are flipped backwards, like 'b' to 'd' or '2' to '5'. I've seen it so far on Mario Kart 64, Pokémon Stadium and Paper Mario.
Just wondered if your beta team had found it yet? http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Umm..... yeah..... sure....
You have it set to reverse mode. Is this a joke? Let me see the other games.

Yeah...anyone who has played enough racing games know there is all kinds of extra modes in them. MK's version of this is to do "mirror mode" where you get the ahem "privilege" of racing the exact same tracks backwards...a little harder, but not much of replayability if you ask me.

Sorry, I suppose that was a bad choice of shot... it's not a joke though. If you look at the positions running around the edge, they're marked 1, 5, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 http://www.emuxhaven.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
I'll attach a shot of Pokémon Stadium:

The only thing I can think of, maybe they're tied for 5th place? lol
As far as the Pokemon shot...hmm..."useb" lol I dunno maybe you got a bad dump or something. I don't remember spelling errors or # errors in the cart versions of these games.

both are probably a CRC error where it's confusing one texture for the other.

Hehe, tied for 5th... who's in second then? ;) And I'm afraid it's not a bad ROM that's causing the problem, because they're both (U) (!) dumps.
I take it from your reaction that you hadn't spotted this then Dave?
I've been fiddling around trying to reproduce the error, and it seems to just happen at random. So far it's only in the three games I've mentioned, although I haven't been able to get Paper Mario to do it again, so I might have been mistaken there (by the way, Paper Mario causes a gfx exception when you level up).
My specs (if they're helpful) are:
AMD Duron 900MHz
128 Mb SDRAM
Voodoo2 12Mb PCI
Windows 98 SE / Windows XP Professional (dualbooting, happens on both of them)
Any more ideas?
